No matter what you choose, Aman Venice is one of the best luxury hotels in Venice. It offers the luxury you expect to make your trip memorable. From the moment you arrive, you'll be in the lap of luxury. Moreover, you will no doubt feel like you have your own 16th century Palazzo Papadopoli to vacation in.
Venice is a historical city in its history with a reputation for romance, second only to Paris. The famous canals wind through the 118 small islands that make up this city in Italy's northeast. You can follow the famous bridges and winding canals to find famous locations like Saint Mark's Basilica, Piazza San Marco, and more hidden away.
If you want a true icon of the city, visit the Grand Canal, the city's main thoroughfare. Along the meandering s-shaped path the canal takes through the city, you can find the iconic gondolas and water buses known as vaporetti. Along the Grand Canal, you can find over 170 buildings. These range in age from 200 to over 700 years old. Besides, many of these grand palazzos were once private homes of the wealthiest families in the city.
Throughout the city, physical reminders of the Republic of Venice's history and wealth demonstrate the artistry found during this great city's heyday. Tour anywhere in the city to see the many statues, fountains, and other public art that are all unique to this wonderful city. In one of these old, regal homes along the Grand Canal, you can find the Aman.
Aman Venice fuses the excellent service and hospitality that Aman resorts are famous for with a legendary city's history and romance to provide arguably the best hotel in Venice. Guests typically arrive via boat, docking at a landing that will take them straight to the Reception Hall of this grand palazzo to check into their luxury hotel.
The hall offers a truly Venetian feel with historic frescoes, soaring ceilings, and reliefs to give a deep sense of luxury from a bygone era. The Hall, designed by Jean-Michel Gathy, also offers direct access to the resort's private gardens and the boutique. A sweeping staircase will take guests up two floors to reach the dining room overlooking the Grand Canal, where guests can enjoy fine Italian cuisine. This is on the grandest floor of the palazzo, the piano nobile.
The main dining room is in the ballroom, which features the original chandeliers, frescoes, and mirrors in a gilded room that once hosted grand parties. Two other dining rooms are named for their color scheme. The Blue Dining Room and the Yellow Dining Room are adjacent to the ballroom. They offer views overlooking the canal grande and the Garden Terrace.
Each room has several dining tables and ceilings painted by the 18th Century artist Giovanni Battista Tiepolo. These gorgeous rooms offer an intimate dining experience set with truly grand surroundings.
The bar can be accessed from the ballroom, a cozy setting to enjoy a drink while enjoying a lovely canal view. Mind you, and guests are free to enjoy a drink or dining wherever they like. However, the views of the Grand Canal from the terrace aren't to be missed while enjoying a drink or meal. A secondary staircase rises from the dining room reception area to lead to the salon.
The salon is a regal lounge with lofty ceilings and a relaxation area with a grand piano. The salon is divided into two areas with large windows to give views of the Grand Canal. The historic library offers similar views and is located near the salon.
This hotel features a neo-renaissance style to give this once private home a luxurious feel unique to Venice.
Suppose you are looking for a feeling of calm serenity, head down to the spa. You can receive treatments like oxygen facials and foot treatments to treat tired feet after walking to see the many sights found close to the hotel.
The 24 rooms each have their own character. They each feature a mix of contemporary and traditional features. Some feature frescoed ceilings and intricately carved walls, while others have a more modern, subdued style. The rooms will either look out over the canal or the private gardens on the hotel grounds. The bathrooms are large, with modern fixtures to ensure you are clean and comfortable during your visit.
The Aman Venice aims to be a home away from home for their guests. Because of this, it is a very relaxed affair. Check-in happens in your room. You can dine nearly anywhere you like and at whatever time strikes your fancy.
The open rooms allow you to explore at your leisure and see how the wealthy of Venice once lived, with many of the original features of the palazzo intact or emulated. You can easily spend your vacation exploring this beautiful old building.
However, missing out on the beauty of Venice would be a shame. The San Polo neighborhood is the Aman Venice location and has plenty of dining and shopping to explore in Venice's quiet area.
There are several attractions located just a few minutes from the hotel. The Rialto Bridge is nearby, as well as the San Tomà or San Silvestro gondola to give easy access to famous locales like St. Mark's square and the San Marco district.
Several renowned restaurants are only a few minutes away by foot if you can pull yourself away from the Aman. You can find the Antiche Carampane 4 minutes away for fresh seafood and the Osteria Bancogiro by the Rialto Bridge using fresh market produce.
The Osteria Da Fiore offers modern Venetian cuisine and has one Michelin star. The Cantina Do Mori is the oldest wine bar in Venice and is only 5 minutes away on foot. Vineria All'Amarone is only 2 minutes away and features wine from the nearby Valpolicella region, so you can truly enjoy the region.
