Amandari is a luxurious hotel that overlooks the Ayung River Valley. It offers the perfect blend of modern comfort and traditional Balinese hospitality. The rooms and suites are designed to give you the best possible experience. They also have a range of different room types available.
From the Amandari suites that are perfect for couples or small families to the free-standing Ayung suite for those who want a little extra space. Whichever room you choose, you can be sure you'll have a comfortable and relaxing stay. If you're looking for a hotel that can offer you the perfect mix of luxury and tradition, then this hotel is ideal.
Amandari means "peaceful spirits." It opened in 1989. It is just five minutes from Ubud, Central Bali's art community. Also nearby is the village of Kedewatan. The hotel was designed as a Balinese village. It features river-stone walkways along with high paras-stone walls.
Also, the open-air lobby was inspired by a Santillan (a place for village meetings). They consider it a sacred land because it runs through Amandari, down the valley, and to the river below. Besides, the Balinese have been taking this path to holy water for hundreds of years. Three small shrines are also just above the spring-fed pool, and an ancient tiger is carved into the rock.
The hotel also offers sweeping views over the Ayung valley and its jungled slopes. The guest suites are modeled after village houses with alang-alang roofing and interiors made of bamboo, teak, or coconut. A sacred stone Tiger also governs the grounds. Children attend dance classes, and villagers often pass by.
Balinese-style stone gateways are in front of Amandari's thirty thatched-roof, walled suites. Some have private gardens; others have private pools. One villa is also available. In addition, all resorts and public areas now have wireless broadband access.
Moreover, the Library has a wide selection of books, newspapers, and CDs. There is also a gym with a cardiovascular machine, a 32m green-tiled pool, and a gift shop. Besides, water surrounds the spa. It features two open-air massage stalls, a steam room, a sauna, and a beauty room.
Amandari sits high on a hillside. It is just a 15-minute drive away from the town center. Besides, coconut palms and rice paddies surround the property. You can also take the free shuttle anytime and get into the action at the Sacred Monkey Forest or Ubud Palace, as well as the Traditional Art Market. The resort is 1 hour away from Ngurah Rai International Airport.
By design, the hotel resembles a traditional Balinese village with rice fields. It is a highly polished replica. You'll find serene gardens featuring lotus ponds and thatched-roof structures. There are also carved-stone statues in vibrant fabrics. These give guests a glimpse of the authentic local style. In addition, the indigenous building materials and art from Bali and other islands in Indonesia provide a unique sense of place.
Amandari maintains a strong connection with its historical setting. This is possible thanks to the meticulous maintenance and gardening done over the years. As a result, the resort feels organic and well-established. The interiors contain timber and have lots of open space.
One of the finest hotels in Bali, Amandari has had many staff members since its inception in 1989. Some are even second-generation. The staff is warm and welcoming, making it easy to feel like you're their family.
This passion is evident in the attention to detail given to the grounds and facilities. The infinity pool is not the only attraction. There's also a tennis court, a gym, and a tranquil spa with open-air waterfalls. This creates a sense of calm that evokes a trance-like relaxation.
The restaurant overlooks Amandari's swimming pool as well as the gorge. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There is also a particular emphasis on Indonesian and Western dishes. The Bar features a large selection of beverages and terraces seating.
Six green umbrellas in Chinese style are located beside the pool. However, some thatched-roof suites are to the right and left of the main entrance. They each have their pools.
The 30 suites have polished marble floors and high ceilings. Many also have private jade-green swimming pools or hand-painted beds. Minibars have Billecart–Salmon champagne. There are also espresso machines and complimentary jars full of freshly baked cookies. Moreover, this hotel is worth every star because of the little touches, such as a chilled poolside water cafe. Pool Suites have garden views and a plunge pool.
Open-air restaurants feature white tablecloths and candles with traditional Balinese music playing. The Balinese feasting menu is available with 24 hours notice. It offers a taste of all the local specialties. These include baby guling, spicy sambal sauces, and exotic fruits. You may also enjoy a rack of lamb and barramundi filets. Plus, there are vegetarian dishes like a Mexican-inspired Quinoa Bowl.
You can choose from salmon or pork eggs, Benedict. Besides, local options include black rice porridge with homemade cream and almond and avocado quinoa. There are also healthy options, such as hemp seed oatmeal. Furthermore, they serve Balinese freshly baked chocolate brownies on departure.
The gardens connect to a stone path that leads to Amandari Spa. Here, holistic treatments take inspiration from traditional Balinese Melukat purification rituals, Balinese royalty body scrubs treatments, and acupressure. Besides, all body treatments, facials, and massages are made with natural products from Aman Spa. Facia-focused healers, joy coaches, and numerology are some spa specialists. You can also play tennis on the hotel´s tennis court.
Green tiles surround the 32-meter infinity swimming pool. It also offers stunning views of the rice paddies and lush forest in Bali's cultural center.
Perched above the Ayung River Gorge, Amandari is a 5-star hotel in Ubud, Bali. The hotel is on the edge of a cliff. It features 30 suites and villas, each with its private plunge pool. The hotel has a restaurant, Bar, Library, and spa. It offers guests a truly unique experience.
