Amanwana

Amanwana (peaceful forest) a wilderness hideaway and eco-initiatives on the nature reserve of Moyo Island east of Bali, on the western edge of the Nusa Tenggara island chain. Lodging is in luxury tents, with wall dives directly offshore, jungle treks to waterfalls and limestone pools, as well as spa treatments, among the activities. The sheltered waters of the Flores Sea around Amanwana are ideal for game fishing, cruising, snorkeling, and scuba diving, from beginner to advanced levels. Amanwana's dive operation and a fleet of sea-going vessels open up for its guests a unique experience of one of the world's most pristine marine environments.

Trek to waterfalls in the pristine jungle, snorkel protected marine-reserve waters through a kaleidoscope of corals and sea life. Unencumbered by human activity, Moyo Island allows Mother Nature full reign across more than 32,000 hectares of protected jungle. Here, surrounded by the turquoise, coral-rich Flores Sea, Amanwana has set up camp – offering just 20 safari Tents spread between the rainforest and the shore. Low-impact and eco-friendly, the standalone Tents are decked out sensitively with hardwood floors, walls, and windows. With soaring, air-conditioned canopies sheltering sumptuous daybeds, ensuite bathrooms, and net-draped king-size beds.

Located at the far end of the camp, a few meters from the shoreline, the Music Pavilion is a forest sanctuary. Here, you can listen to music, order a picnic lunch and a bottle of wine, enjoy afternoon tea or a sunset cocktail.

Amanwana's Luxury Tents - Backed by the lush jungle foliage of a nature reserve on the Flores Sea's shores, Amanwana's permanent tented Suites pair a wilderness experience with modern luxury. Amanwana is made up of 20 luxurious air-conditioned tents set under a canopy of tropical forest. A solid wall partially encloses each 58-square-meter tent. There is a soft waterproof external roof and a separate canvas interior. A coral-stone deck surrounds each tent. Inside, the air-conditioned tents feature banks of windows, Indonesian island artwork, a sitting area with facing divans, a king-size bed, a writing desk, and a large bathroom. There is hardwood flooring throughout.

Dining at Amanwana, Indonesia - The Restaurant, looking over the Flores Sea to Medang Island and Sumbawa's mountains, serves fresh and simple cuisine. Much of it made with products grown or reared on the island. The catch of the day, direct from the fishermen's boats, highlights the daily menu, tailored to individual tastes. The Dining Room and Bar are located in an open-air pavilion facing the sea. Indonesian hardwood flooring and solid coconut pillars support the tropical structure. A selection of Asian and Western food is served at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In season, a regular alfresco barbecue is available, as are Campfire dinners.

Spa & Wellness Experiences, Amanwana - Set on the tranquil beachfront, the Jungle Cove Spa is an open-air sanctuary with a massage table, shower, and sunken tub steps from the water's edge. Massages, facials, and body treatments with Aman's all-natural products are available in the coral-walled waterside spa, a dedicated spa tent, or a private tent.

Moyo Island Adventure Experiences - The turquoise waters and pristine reefs of the Flores Sea are home to some of Indonesia's best scuba diving and snorkeling spots, many within ten minutes or Amanwana. The hilly tropical forests are crisscrossed by hiking trails on land, home to the island's protected deer, macaques, and wild boar.

Amanwana Dive Centre - Amanwana Bay is a pristine marine reserve with various snorkeling and dive sites remote as they are beautiful. Intricate technicolor reefs, deep-sea walls, and coral cays boast a remarkable diversity of marine life – including pufferfish, blue-spotted rays, sea turtles, and the occasional shark, dolphin, and whale.
