Located on the northwest point of the island of Providenciales in the Turks is the Amanyara hotel. The resort, which means a peaceful place, is nestled at the tip of a 5,000-acre wildlife and nature reserve. In addition, the widely acclaimed coral reefs of the Northwest Point Marine Park are just offshore from the resort.

The resort's name comes from the Sanskrit word for peace and the word for place in the Arawak people's language, one of the indigenous peoples in the area. The resort's isolated position is pristine, and the beauty and tranquility found there are far removed from the development of the rest of the island.

The resort lies along a narrow road that follows the coast, rising over the hill before falling into a flat plain covered in stunted trees and native brush.

A Coastal Wonderland

It is only a 25-minute drive to reach Amanyara, but the trip from the airport gives a sense of transformation. Guests will travel miles of nature preserve to get a white sand beach looking out over turquoise waters. Sea turtles swim at the coral reefs just off the shore. A warm and friendly staff asking with a contemporary design creates a deep sense of tranquility on the land.

Whether you visit to celebrate a milestone, host a significant event, or wish to spend time with family, you will immerse yourself in the serenity at this resort in the Turks and Caicos Islands. The resort can be seen through the spacious reception pavilion that leads to a reflecting pond surrounded by mature trees.

Around this pond, you will find the Library and Boutique on one side; on the other, you will find the Dining Room and terrace with fantastic ocean views.

Pavilions

Woven into the island of Providenciales' dramatic scenery, the pavilions are nestled into coastal vegetation pockets overlooking the Northwest Point Marine Reserve. Overhanging eaves shade the terraces on three sides of each pavilion. You can access the terraces from the floor-to-ceiling glass doors to the covered living room and bedroom.

A few of the pavilions offer private pools and two bedrooms. The forty timber shingled pavilions are similar in design and layout. They are categorized by their location and the view they offer. For example, you can select from a pond, ocean, and beach pavilion. Upon arrival at your pavilion, you will enter a terrace with two daybeds in it.

Sliding glass doors are what open to reveal the interior of the room. The king-size beds have a writing desk behind them, along with a chair. A cabinet contains a small bar and is safe for your pavilion. In the room corners, you'll find a reading chair with a footstool to relax in and the entertainment console housing the television with a DVD player with a surround sound system.

From this combined bedroom and living room are two additional terraces. The bathroom is separated from the room by a decorative wooden screen. It features a freestanding tub with an ottoman adjacent to relaxing on. The Villas are the three-bedroom option that overlooks one of the resort's ponds.

These bedroom pavilions are centered on an infinity swimming pool with two additional pavilions for dining and relaxation. Each villa has maids on staff and includes a golf cart for navigating the resort.

Dining Experiences

Guests can dine outside around the central pond or remain indoors in the restaurant's air conditioning. Freshly caught seafood is the star, with everything from tuna to grouper and red snapper.

This is complemented by organic produce from the aquaponic vegetable garden found at the resort. In addition, the Beach Club serves many raw dishes and cuisine baked in a stone hearth.

The Dining Room menu is Asian and Mediterranean, focusing on the local seafood - Head past the Dining Room and swimming pool to reach the Lounge, a full-service bar. Around the Lounge's perimeter are oversized day beds, perfect for relaxing with a drink. The Beach Club is found on a dune above the southern end of the white sand beach.

If you'd like an informal dining experience, the Beach Club is your best option. It also offers an intimate area for a casual beach barbecue in the evenings. The pool is on an expansive terrace that gives fantastic ocean views.

Two lounge terraces on either end of the pool provide shallow entry and water lounging. A third lounge can be found beyond the pool, closer to the oceanfront. Finally, along the timber deck are pairs of sun lounges and an outdoor shower.

Spa and Wellness

Around a tranquil pond, you will find Amanyara's Spa. It has four treatment pavilions, a relaxing pavilion, and an outdoor yoga area.

The Fitness Center includes a fully equipped gym to keep you fit and two tennis courts with floodlighting to keep playing into the night. In addition, it consists of a Pilates studio as well as cardio and resistance training equipment.

The Clubhouse has four tennis courts, a volleyball, and a multi-sport field.

Adventure Experiences

The pristine waters of the Northwest Point Marine National Parks are some of the most diverse in the region. Off Amanyara's 800-meter beach, you can find a wonderland of coral reefs and do scuba diving.

These waters are home to humpback whales, bonefish, hawksbill turtles, and hundreds of bird species. On land, exploration safaris take you into the tropical forest and coastal ecosystem.
