The Arizona Biltmore a Waldorf Astoria Resort, has undergone a significant refurbishment and is now looking better than ever. A 39 acres paradise of lush gardens, sun-kissed palm palms, shimmering swimming pools, and Frank Lloyd Wright-influenced architecture, the Arizona Biltmore is known across the globe as the Jewel of the Desert.
After over a century of service, the Waldorf Astoria Arizona Biltmore remains one of the world's best-known resorts. This is because of its Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired design, plentiful amenities, and long history. Celebrities, international leaders, and U.S. presidents regularly visit this venerable hotel.
In addition to five restaurants, there is the award-winning Spa Biltmore, a full-service salon, and eight pools. Moreover, the resort has six tennis courts and two championship golf club courses. This luxurious 39-acre estate oozes luxury. Views of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve are also stunning from the resort's location.
The hotel is a one-stop shop for all Arizona has to offer. There are the renowned Gold and Aztec rooms (with gold-leaf ceilings) and a picture gallery chronicling the history of the hotels and resorts. Additionally, there are athletic facilities, a wellness center, and restaurants and bars.
Favorite memory? Irving Berlin inspired "White Christmas" in the Catalina Pool. Marilyn Monroe considered it her most famous swimming pool in the whole world.
To get to the heart of Phoenix, the hotel is in a posh area and near two beautiful golf courses. In addition, Biltmore Fashion Park and Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport are only a short drive away. This makes it an ideal location for both business and leisure travelers. To the north, guests may access Piestewa Peak by hiking for approximately two and a half kilometers.
Frank Lloyd Wright's old winter residence and present architecture school, Taliesin West, is about a half-hour away. Nearby attractions include Phoenix Zoo and Botanical Gardens, less than a 20-minute drive away. Furthermore, just 15 minutes away is Phoenix's Sky Harbor International Airport.
Frank Lloyd Wright, America's most celebrated architect, profoundly affected the design of The Arizona Biltmore, a Waldorf Astoria Resort. Wright worked with Albert Chase McArthur, a former pupil, as the consultant architect.
The resort's design is infused with Wright's dramatic aesthetic. Moreover, the hotel was built in 1929 by one of Wright's pupils. "Biltmore Blocks" were formed on-site with a geometric pattern chiseled into them and used to create the characteristic grey facade of the building. Besides, copper ceilings and Art Deco-style lamps illuminate wood flooring and patterned carpets.
Several relaxing spaces surround the reception desks with red, grey, and turquoise-colored seats - beautiful flower beds in geometric patterns, fountains, and statues on the groomed grounds. Additionally, palm trees and stone fountains border the pools. Beige lounge chairs with umbrellas for guests of all ages surround these borders.
Eight swimming pools, seven tennis courts, and two Biltmore golf courses are available for guests' enjoyment. But, of course, there's nothing like playing chess or putt-putt on a life-size board to pass the time away - a 20,000-square-foot Spa with organic and natural materials for facials and body treatments. Additionally, there is a sunlit fitness center equipped with the latest technology.
A "Kids Kamp" for children aged four to twelve is on the playground in the afternoons. It features a canopy and a stay-cool rubberized surface. Also, a casual café with a patio, a poolside restaurant with a swim-up Wright bar, and fine dining. The hotel's original speakeasy is again available on Sundays with a password you can obtain through Twitter.
Furthermore, free historical tours of the resort's grounds are available three times a week. There are also two ballrooms, one for visitors who need to do business while staying at the hotel. Moreover, the Ocatilla bar, terrace, and Paradise pool provide free Wi-Fi.
The Arizona Biltmore, a Waldorf Astoria Resort, contains 739 guest rooms. One-bedroom villas with fully equipped kitchens and private pools are among the most luxurious accommodations at the Ocatilla. Vintage black-and-white photos, Art Deco accents, and Mission-style furniture make up the decor. Moreover, some rooms include balconies or patios. These provide breathtaking views of the mountains, gardens, or swimming pool.
Additionally, the bathrooms are sleek and modern, with sand-colored walls, ivory tile flooring, and glass-door shower stalls with metallic accent walls. Some include decadent Roman-style baths. There are also calming tones of sandy white and gentle blue in the Classic Garden View rooms' décor. Plus, thoughtful amenities like reading lamps and Keurig coffee makers are present.
Flat-screen TVs integrated into the dark and blonde wood cabinets, a sitting area with a glass table, and a small terrace is all in the Club Deluxe suites. The suites blend 1930s flair with contemporary amenities.
It's the popular lunchtime place at the Arizona Biltmore (you can also dine here for breakfast and dinner). Check out the bronze Soleri wind chimes as you eat some delicious soups and sandwiches. Decorated with geometric bells, the bright and airy eatery's earthy brown and grassy green color palette is given a blue tinge. Renata's Hearth serves hearty fare cooked over an open fire, including luscious meats and veggies. And don't forget to get a mezcal flight from the expert.
The Tierra Luna Spa's innovative Alchemy Mud & Crystal Wrap employs indigenous mud to purify and soften skin. This unique therapy also promotes circulation and reduces pain. Essential oils and a crystal are also personalized services to increase your energy.
The resort's position is ideal for exploring Phoenix and the surrounding area. The Wrigley Mansion, constructed by William Wrigley Jr (of chewing gum fame), who owned the Arizona Biltmore in the early days, is also a must-see for architecture enthusiasts. Initially built in 1930 for $1.2 million, this lavish mansion has 12 baths, a fine dining restaurant, and daily tours.
Take a hot air balloon trip, ride horses through the Sonoran Desert, or take a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon. Finally, Phoenix is a terrific place to shop. Scottsdale's Old Town has over a hundred art galleries and studios. There are also adorable cafés and designer shops. Furthermore, during the Scottsdale ArtWalk, guests may peruse the galleries every Thursday night while enjoying complimentary wine and refreshments.
The Arizona Biltmore a Waldorf Astoria Resort, hosted presidents, celebrities, and dignitaries with elegant design and high-class guest services. Moreover, it has a spectacular Arizona landmark next to Phoenix's business district. One of the world's most luxurious resorts in the United States, Arizona Biltmore sits in the center of the Camelback Corridor and the prestigious Biltmore Estates. Book your stay today.
