Located in the heart of the Côtes de Provence, Chateau de Berne is known for its world-class red, rosé, and white wines. Therefore, the best choice for wine tourists is this place. Moreover, there are 500 acres of woodland and olive trees around the hotel. It is hidden in the woods, but you can see it from the road.
All of Château's wine comes from its 143 acres of organically grown vines, so the trip starts there. This is where the wine is made. The area is between Lorgues and Flayosc in the Var region of Provence. The 1,500-acre private estate of Château de Berne is in this area, too.
Despite its remote location in the heart of Provence, this vast wine estate is just an hour's drive from the shore at St Tropez. However, the beauty of this rural corner of Provence is lost if you spend all your time tanning on the beaches. Moreover, it's far more pleasant to savor the picturesque vistas of the wine tourism area (and the wine) while daydreaming about possible adventures to the Var uplands.
There are also plenty of activities to keep you occupied at the Chateau de Berne. These include hiking, cycling, mountain biking, quad-bikes, pétanque, spa treatments, wine tasting, and exquisite dining. Additionally, the estate is within a 20-minute drive from the spectacular Le Thoronet monastery, just north of ancient Lorgues. Plus, Lac de Sainte Croix, near the Gorges du Verdon, offers a variety of water sports and other activities for visitors to the Haut-Var hills.
Château de Berne is a new luxury wine resort under a foresighted English owner who is expanding on the solid foundations laid by the previous owner. When it comes to making rosé, the second-largest producer in the area is Mark Dixon. He is a businessman who has done it all before. Following through the domain's gates takes another 10 minutes before you can reach a 1,500-acre chateau on the other side.
The setting is an 18th-century castle with a pergola covered in jasmine and terraces that gently slope down to vineyards. The bar, spa, and shop are all in the city, but the clubby library is from the old days. People who go through the lobby's statement-making passageway can find a hidden wine cellar and a shop for cheese. It also has a Zen garden with private pools outside and huts for relaxing by the water.
This is how a Var castle looks. A "country chic" style is a trademark of the Château de Berne. All 34 rooms and four villas are warm and light with a "country chic" feel. Everything you need to have a great time in Provence is right here. From the beautiful materials to the elegant furniture to the understated elegance to the clarity and beautiful volumes.
The castle where the country-house star hotel is and the castle itself. Most of the rooms are in the manor house next to the castle. The cocooning rooms are decorated with a variety of chests and paintings that were found in antique stores. People in this area love how the tiled floors and flowery fabrics match the rest of the site. They also love the Provencal furniture and the pretty balconies.
Furthermore, grapevine views or an old chateau with a bar and restaurant outside are hard to choose from. However, you'll most likely receive a bottle of wine from the estate and some small snacks as a thank you gift. There are also a lot of Cinq Mondes items in the bathrooms. Finally, La Bastide is a small farmhouse with a private pool. It's more typical of what you'd find in Provence.
At this hotel, there are a few dining areas to choose from.
Michelin-starred Restaurant Le Jardin de Berne is a gastronomic restaurant. The menu is full of fine food — fresh vegetables, herbs, and produce from the garden. Every day of the year, people come to the Var region to eat lunch and dinner because of its beautiful natural scenery.
Look no further for a place where you and your family can enjoy a tasty meal together. This is the place you'll love to dine. In Lorgues, the Bistrot is a great place to eat some of the area's best food. Chef Benjamin Collombat's Le Bistrot de la Cave keeps its cozy fine-dining feel while serving regional food influenced by traditional French fare from the site. There are also de Berne wines from the estate to go along with your food.
Make your retro kitchen with shiny tiles, brass pots, and counters of wood and stone. It should look like a kitchen in the best French bourgeois homes. But, of course, you can't get better than a brand-new culinary school when you want to learn how to cook. There are 27 rooms at the five-star Relais & Châteaux in the heart of Provence. The property is off the main road and at the end of a winding road that leads past the vines of Château de Berne.
Indulge in Cinq Mondes Spa beauty and care treatments in a beautiful setting. Enjoy a real moment of peace. The spa offers guests 800 square meters of well-being for them to enjoy. Moreover, there is an indoor counter-current pool and two Jacuzzis at the hotel. The hotel spa also has a steam room, sauna, and VIP rooms with balneotherapy and beautiful views of the vineyards, forests, and olive groves.
Relax at a picturesque estate that serves as an inspiration for wine resorts well beyond the Riviera while you live out your Count of Provence dreams. If you're looking for a place where you can indulge in everything from exquisite cuisine to rural activities, Château de Berne is the place. Rosé, the estate's most famous wine, is setting the tone.
