In 2010, the Hotel Fasano Punta del Este Uruguay opened in Uruguay to show its worldwide growth. The first Fasano outside of Brazil is one of the most beautiful resorts in South America. It was designed by Isay Weinfeld, who won an award for how well it fits into its beautiful natural surroundings. The land is 490 acres and is in the middle of La Barra. It looks out over the Maldonado River.
After an extension project, Locanda Fasano, a new part of the hotel, was shown to the public. The Locanda Fasano complex is near the famous Fasano Restaurant and was designed by Carolina Proto. It has ten new apartments on the upper floors and 20 private homes on the ground floor.
To get there, you'll need a car or a taxi. When you leave the tall buildings of Punta, you'll be glad for the signs along the way that show you're on the right track. You might be surprised and taken aback when you get there and see how different Fasano is from other five-star hotels in the area, like the glitzy Conrad. Moreover, the architecture of the hotel is low-key and simple.
This is a hotel that slowly shows you all of its secrets. At first glance, it seems simple and understated. However, when you go outside of a high-quality hotel, you can see how good the service and facilities are.
Each of the 30 guest rooms has its own little house or cottage. You can't see any windows in the front of these simple stone buildings with big wooden doors. You might think you've stumbled into a cave from the Stone Age. Instead, there's nothing better than walking into a seductive and comfortable hotel room as soon as you open the door. On the stone floor of the living room is a 12-foot-long wool rug, and a massive sofa with lots of cushions is waiting for you.
Guests can separate suite bedrooms from the rest of the room with a sliding wood door that gives the most privacy possible. Two huge sliding glass doors make it feel like you're in the middle of a beautiful forest. In addition, it has two large walk-in closets, an open dressing area, and a deep bathtub with a rain shower head, one of the most luxurious bathrooms ever seen.
Upgrades to the suites are highly recommended because they are more significant than the regular deluxe rooms (1,200 square feet vs. 600 square feet). Moreover, on the private patios of each bungalow, you can drink a glass of the area's world-famous Tannat wine and look out over 1,000 acres of beautiful Uruguayan countryside.
Fasano's first venture outside of Brazil, in Punta Del Este, brings a century's worth of culinary history and skill. The Fasano Restaurant serves dinner focusing on food from different parts of Italy. At the top of one of Uruguay's highest mountains, the restaurant has panoramic views of the Maldonado River Valley and the surrounding area. Fasano is open for dinner every night of the week during the high season. You'll find the food from the Fasano family and the beauty of Las Piedras are both in the same place.
Restaurant Las Piedras is Rogério Fasano's version of a real Italian trattoria. Punta Del Este is a great place to have supper with friends because it has a country feel. You can get into a garden surrounded by trees through the French doors. There are also a lot of first editions and limited editions of books on the walls. In addition to the regular menu, there is a salad and antipasto buffet every Sunday. During the busy season, breakfast is available every day.
Spa Fasano has five massage rooms, five heated indoor pool options, saunas, steam rooms, and a fitness center. The hotel has two open-air tennis courts that guests can use while there. The Concierge can also set up lessons for both new players and those who already know how to play. There is a full-service gym in the hotel's spa area with cardio and strength-training equipment that guests can use. The hiking, biking, and running routes are perfect for people who like to be active outside.
Fasano Punta del Este stands out because they pay attention to the little things they don't have to do but do anyway. For example, when people come to the spa, they get a free foot massage with hot stones and lavender essential oil. Moreover, spend time in the steam room, dry sauna, or heated infinity pool, all of which have a breathtaking view overlooking the Maldonado River Valley.
Visit the quiet and private river beach in Rio Maldonado for some peace. The shop is open in the summer. At the Equestrian Center at Hotel Fasano Punta del Este, you can ride horseback, enjoy the polo fields, or visit a stable.
There are also horseback riding and riding lessons at the facility, suitable for new riders and more experienced ones. "Golf": Arnold Palmer built the golf course in the Las Piedras complex. From those who have never played before to seasoned pros, golfers of all skill levels can take lessons on the green.
It's not by chance that one of the world's most prestigious travel publications names your establishment the "Best Hotel of Latin America." However, if you're not a fan of awe-inspiring views, excellent service, and some of the most delightfully snug accommodations globally, you'll have difficulty finding fault with this top hotel.
Fasano Las Piedras is one of the few hotels better in person than it looks online. It is so beautiful that pictures can't do it justice. Fasano Las Piedras is a peaceful, all-year-round alternative to the flash and glamor of popular Punta Del Este. Punta Del Este is a party town in late December and early January, but Fasano Punta del Este Las Piedras is quiet and enjoyable. Even though Fasano is only a 15-minute drive from Punta's most popular beaches, it feels like you're in the middle of Uruguay's countryside.
