InterContinental Chongqing Raffles City is designed with the classic InterContinental gold and elegant white as the leading tone, integrating elements such as the mountains, rivers, bridges, and Chongqing boats into a fantastic work of art. The hotel is like a ship sailing through the flow of history. The combination of local culture and InterContinental can be felt anywhere inside the hotel.

The Crystal - Is an enclosed 300-meter-long horizontal skyway that sits atop four of the buildings. It is 30m wide, and 22.5m high - the exterior consists of approximately 3,000 glass panels and 5,000 aluminum panels.

The Crystal was constructed in nine parts; four were built on the top of the towers, and the three middle parts were prefabricated, hoisted from the ground, and then installed. Within the Crystal are two swimming pools, several international restaurants, and a viewing gallery, all complemented by natural trees, creating a hanging garden at the city's heart.
