This luxury hotel was formerly the vacation residence of the upper-class Sersale family. Le Sirenuse Hotel was an 18th-century palazzo that is now a 5-star resort. The inn was opened in 1951 by the Sersale siblings. It only had eight rooms and a large terrace facing the ocean at the time.
Le Sirenuse is a family business with every member participating, making the business successful. Franco Sersale's son Antonio looked after the hotel, and his wife, Carla, is a bikini and women's wear designer. Her clothes are traded at the Emporio Sirenuse boutique and other stores worldwide. The American writer, John Steinbeck was a big fan of the hotel.
Marina Sersale and her husband created their fragrance and skincare line, Eau d'Italie. Moreover, her sister Giulia curated Le Sirenuse's outdoor and indoor plants. In the 1990s, Franco Sersale refurbished the resort by occupying the house with lovely furniture, paintings, and objects he discovered while traveling.
Over the years, the villa extended with neighboring houses forming the hotel. The property owners are husband and wife Antonio and Carla Sersale, contemporary art collectors. They also encourage an expert to create a sectioned-specific piece each year, especially for the hotel.
If you ever considered visiting Southern Italy, it is only a plus-minus twelve-hour flight from the United States. The hotel is on a cliff-side in the heart of Positano, close to the spectacular Amalfi Coast. Moreover, it overlooks the suburb, Sirens Island, and the Mediterranean Sea.
One can also see the colorful majolica dome of Santa Maria Assunta and the sea view. Besides, it is one hour away from Naples. The hotel lies between the Bay of Naples and the Bay of Salerno. Places nearby include Capri, Amalfi, Ravello, Pompeii, Sorrento, and Paestum. When touring, one can have a five-minute hike to Marina Grande and enjoy the shore and local excitement. Guests can also take a ferry boat to Capri, Sorrento, and Amalfi.
The resort has many teak kinds of wood, white marble, and stainless steel components with Moorish construction. Le Sirenuse is modern, chic, and sophisticated. It is in a deep crimson and white color. It also has an attractive swimming pool enveloped by lemon trees and spacious deck chairs with incredible ocean views.
There are 58 luxury rooms, each uniquely equipped with an intimate atmosphere. When visiting the hotel, one obtains cloth-bound notebooks, mignon pencils, and a charming beach basket.
The rooms have white walls with large paintings that are both antiques mixed with new art as ornamentation. They have lovely handmade tiled floors with many potted plants. Rooms also have old-style curved roofs. Moreover, each includes a flat-screen TV, free Wi-Fi, and iPod docks. You can also loan your very own iPod during your stay.
Additionally, the rooms have tall windows open to terraces that offer breathtaking views of Positano. There are also elegant bathrooms in white tiles with marble and chrome features. Besides, the bathrooms have whirlpool tubs and in-house Eau d'Italie products supplied by the owner's sister Marina.
Le Sirenuse has a romantic Michelin-starred La Sponda restaurant with glorious views that serve light Mediterranean cuisine. Here, chefs provide food with grand culinary traditions. They use fresh local ingredients inspired by Naples and the Amalfi Coast's delicious culinary customs in the restaurant.
In the morning, the breakfast area is adjacent to the pool terrace. It incorporates multiple fresh-baked pastries, an array of bread, and homemade granola. There is also buffalo milk yogurt, fresh mozzarella, and smoked tuna. Guests can also order omelets or other warm menu choices.
A breakfast item not to miss out on while visiting is the delicious, ricotta-filled "Sfogliatelle." For lunch, you can delight in different salads, pasta, and grilled dishes on the pool terrace. Furthermore, vacationers can gather on the terrace before supper to appreciate the champagne and oyster bar.
Afterward, unwind with candles flaring and be serenaded by gentlemen playing on the guitars and mandolin. Here, you can savor menu items like mouth-watering sea bass with candied lemon, amberjack with grape jam, and chestnut ravioli with white truffles. Additionally, you can end the night with their to-die-for hot lemon soufflé.
Gae Aulenti designs the spa. Here, therapists are qualified in Aromatherapy treatments for the face and body and body rubs, and AVEDA's organic products are solely used for treatments.
These are influenced by ancient Ayurveda thinking. Besides, the spa has a sauna, a stonework steam bath, and an ice room. The facilities also have a warm swimming pool, and you can reserve a spa suite for couples. You will find it on the first floor. Here couples can also revel in synchronized treatments.
The gym has "TechnoGym" cardiovascular instruments and weights, stretching and yoga mats, and two "Megaformers."
Two boutiques sell everything you require for a fabulous Amalfi Coast look. In addition, the hotel offers complimentary fun wooden "gozzo" trips. You can even experience glamorous speed boat sunset cruises with champagne at your own cost.
Daily activities include Pilates and Yoga classes, cocktail-making classes, and supervised tours of the hilltops. In addition, guests can take a day to tour the fresh fish marketplace or to try different olive oils or "limoncello" tasting experiences. You can also sample wine at Capri, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Vesuvius, and Naples.
The affectionate family-owned le Sirenuse hotel is a highly sophisticated, upscale resort with charisma. It bears beautiful pristine grounds and marvelous landscapes. Enjoy the romantic candlelight Michelin-starred restaurant at this luxurious hotel serving Mediterranean cuisine.
Moreover, at the lavish spa, guests can unwind. Rooms also offer Eau d'Italie products that you can enjoy, specially produced by Marina.
