Since it opened in July 2002, the Le Taha'a by Pearl Resort has won many awards. The hotel got high marks on Conde Nast Traveler's 2011 "Best Places to Stay" Gold List.
Le Taha'a by Pearl Resort, part of the Relais & Chateaux brand, will welcome you into a world of natural beauty, timelessness, and authenticity. Besides, the resort, built in the traditional Polynesian style, is on a small island called Motu TauTau. From there, you can see Taha'a and the beautiful view of Bora Bora in the lagoon.
On a small island of Taha off the west coast are the luxury resort Le Taha by Pearl Resort (a small sandy islet). The closest airport to the island of Raiatea is 35 minutes away by private boat. There is also a free shuttle boat that takes about five minutes to get to the Tapuamu marina from the mainland of Taha'a. Plus, from Tapuamu, you can take a taxi or rent a car or go on an organized tour.
However, from the Raiatea Airport, the only way to get to each resort is by boat, which takes 35 minutes, or by helicopter, which takes 14 minutes.
The resort is a beautiful place to stay in style on a tropical island. Overwater bungalows and villas made from local materials and with thatched roofs reflect Polynesian design and architecture. On the island of Motu Tautau, where cars are not allowed, the enormous grounds of the Le Taha'a by Pearl Resort are surrounded by lush tropical plants and a soft white beach.
The Service is always friendly. Pearl shops sell Tahitian pearls, both set and loose, and an activity desk can set up day trips to nearby pearl fields and other places. You can sign up for these trips at the desk. Additionally, there is a swimming pool, a tennis court, and a shop for scuba diving. Plus, SUPs, kayaks, and snorkeling gear are available to guests at no extra cost.
Furthermore, guests who leave in the evening can use transit rooms. These have a small bed, a bathroom, and other essential things. Moreover, at the Tvai Spa, treatments use Monoi. This Polynesian oil comes from coconuts and flowers from the island's own Monoi plantation.
There are 60 guest rooms, 45 of which are over-water suites. This group includes sunset, the mainland of Taha'a, and Bora Bora. Villas have private plunge pools, walled gardens, and access to the beach. They also have baths and showers that can be used inside and outside. From the private deck of these bungalows, you can walk right into the lagoon.
Additionally, all of the rooms are in a Polynesian style. Tapa, a native bark-printed textile, is used as an ornament in some rooms. There is also a Nespresso coffee maker, free Wi-Fi, and complimentary bottled water in each room.
The resort was built around the island's natural features, so it fits in well with its surroundings. Moreover, trees surround the main dining area of the resort. This makes it a peaceful place to eat breakfast and dinner and lets guests look out over the Taha'a lagoon. A restaurant in the Polynesian style has a thatched roof and wooden structure. It is on the beach near the pool and has its feet in the sand. It's a great place to eat outside because the chef makes exciting food.
Additionally, Le Taha'a by Pearl Resort has three restaurants and two bars in the middle of the South Pacific. Titiraina, the restaurant by the pool, only serves lunch. Hawaiki Nui, the main restaurant, is on the second floor of the main building. It has a beautiful view of the lagoon and garden. There are also many different kinds of breakfast food. These include fresh Tahitian fruit, omelets, crêpes, pastries, and cakes from France, Polynesia, and other places.
When it's time to eat, guests can choose from local and French dishes, like shrimp, marlin, tuna caught in the area, or veal braised in Taha'a vanilla. Tuesday nights, instead of the usual meal, there are fire dances from Polynesia and a folkloric show. Ohiri is a French-Polynesian fine dining restaurant open from Wednesday to Sunday. It serves food from French Polynesia made with the highest quality ingredients.
You can be as active as you want and use the tennis court, volleyball court, table tennis, and kayaking. There is also a fitness center with air conditioning and a beautiful coral garden, which is only a 5-minute boat ride from the resort's beach. You could also take a break near the water, spa, or hammock. At Le Spa by Le Taha'a, you can unwind and feel better with massages and other Polynesian treatments.
Additionally, you can do many different things when you visit the Tahitian islands. These include tours of vanilla plantations and pearl farms, tours on wave runners, scuba diving and hiking trips to Raiatea, and more. You could even get married in a traditional Polynesian ceremony or at one of our many Romantic Rendez-Vous.
To avoid any inconvenience, families with small children should book a stay in one of the Pool Beach villas or the Royal Pool Beach villas. It is possible to take the plunge pool child-safe. The resort offers a children's menu at the Le Vanille and La Plage restaurants.
