The Raffles Dubai Hotel is one of the most luxurious hotels in the world. Raffles is an arresting sight for any visitor to this unique, captivating city with its distinctive pyramid shape rising from lush gardens.
This 17-story glass and stone building is one of nine Raffles luxury hotels stretching back to the first Singapore hotel that opened in 1887. Moreover, this multi-award-winning resort retains Asian references and blends them creatively with the Egyptian and Middle Eastern styles chosen for Raffles Dubai.
Dubai is both a city and an emirate within the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on the Persian Gulf. The hotel is attached to the WAFI luxury shopping mall. It is also close to the financial business district of the city and the Dubai World Trade Center.
Besides, Dubai International Airport is less than 15 minutes away, with metro connections close to the hotel. Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building to date, dominates the skyline and is a 10-minute taxi ride with the mega Dubai mall just below it. A plethora of beautiful beaches is also within easy reach.
Dubai is a swish city with high-rise luxury buildings and fashionable shopping malls. However, there is an 'old Dubai.' The Al-Fahidi district has 19th-century architecture, and the Fort museum dates back to 1787, built to defend Dubai Creek.
The newer structure of Burj Khalifa has mind-blowing views across the city to the desert and entrance to the stunning mall and the Dubai Aquarium. The Dubai Frame, a gigantic picture frame with history galleries, is also one of the city's newest sights.
Inside and out, Raffles is constructed in the style of the ancient pyramid tombs of Egyptian pharaohs. Guests are met by staff at the entrance. This top-notch service continues from reception, concierge, and housekeeping to spa and dining teams.
This is a luxury hotel from the first moment, where giant pillars engraved with Egyptian hieroglyphics rise from wall-to-wall marble floors. An outsize bronze pendant feature hangs from the ceiling. Additionally, human-size Egyptian pots sit in rows. Gold Mashrabiya filigree work swirls about light fixtures and more gold on more giant pots as containers for gorgeous flowers.
Furthermore, gold plush seating and some contrast lilac-striped sofas sit under beautiful ornate light fittings. Everything is large and lavish but not unwelcoming.
The 252 rooms and suites are extravagantly sized and luxuriously appointed. Moreover, all have private balconies with fine city views, modern technologies, and in-room amenities. Butler service is also standard.
The decor is contemporary but with traditional Mashrabiya elements and motifs here, too, on carpets, rugs, drapes, and doors. Plush sequined velvets and exquisite silks in gold, ivory, and accent colors of tan, burgundy, and blue adorn every room.
Natural stone bathrooms have corner tubs, showers, and double vanities and are equally lavish. The suites are mega-scale apartments with floor-to-ceiling windows letting in natural light.
Deep comfort sofas also abound with multiple scatter cushions for extra ease. Besides, workstations, wood furniture, and 4-poster beds add to the many deluxe features in these superb suites.
Club rooms have various benefits, including complimentary breakfast, tea, and evening canapes. Diplomatic suites are on the corners of the building and combine Asian and Middle Eastern décor. However, club benefits apply here and in all unique suites.
The penthouse suites feature delicate ornaments and art pieces, a pillow menu, additional spacious rooms, a bathroom Jacuzzi, and fabulous views from the private terraces. Additionally, the two Royal suites combine opulence with sublime comfort. The art-filled, refined décor is picked out in gold and royal blue in sumptuous fabrics and fine furnishings. Bathrooms are out of Hollywood.
The hotel has 7 restaurants and bars to suit every taste and mood. At the top of the building is Tomo, an authentic Japanese restaurant. It has a strong following among locals and visitors.
The award-winning Solois for Italian food lovers with traditional dishes brilliantly interpreted by the restaurant's culinary team. Home-cooked menus follow the flavors and recipes of Tuscany and Lombardy through to Sicily, where the love of food is legendary.
Artisan bread, homemade pizzas, pasta and sauces, afternoon tea, and delicious desserts are on the menus with vegan and unique diet alternatives. A kids' menu is also available.
Azur is a feast for the eyes and the taste buds, with a gorgeous buffet selection of pan- Arabic/Asian and international dishes. Guests to the Raffles Salon can sit comfortably in plush gold or red chairs in the marble-floored lobby. Here, they can enjoy coffee/pastries or an English-style tea.
12 cabanas in the lush gardens are the setting for the Raffles Garden Arabic-themed barbeque grilled menus on set evenings in the week. There is an all-day swim-up Pool Bar and all-day eatery or take-out Bento boxes for guests who cannot bear to leave the fabulous pool.
Moreover, fresh juices and other drinks accompany the menus. The Crossroads Cocktail Bar is also a garden place to savor the original Singapore Sling. This unique blend of gin, cherry brandy, and other ingredients. A Dubai sling is a modern alternative.
The Raffles Spa is lavish and offers luxury face, body, and rejuvenation or relaxation therapies in 6 treatment rooms. Moreover, the fully-equipped fitness center is open all day until mid-evening.
A 22-meter outdoor swimming pool with sweeping modern design features also has a heated Jacuzzi for guest use.
Raffles welcomes children and includes a kid's menu and a kid's pool. There are also activities at the 'kid's connection' in the attached WAFI mall.
The hotel has ample meeting rooms and first-class facilities for business conferences, celebrations, and banquets. Furthermore, a magnificent ballroom complete with Swarovski crystal chandeliers and a garden terrace is perfect for weddings.
Dubai is well-known for its many luxury buildings and high-end shopping. However, it attracts many beach lovers, business travelers, political and government representatives, and celebrities.
In this vibrant place, the Raffles Dubai pyramid provides a chic, luxurious, sophisticated, and supremely comfortable hotel for guests visiting Dubai.
