Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi

Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi is in the capital city of New Mexico, United States. The stunning facility is famous for its fantastic food, relaxed pace, stimulating culture, and historical architecture.

This luxurious lodging house is the embodiment of all these traits. It is a luxury boutique hotel with superb architectural detail and world-class artwork. It may appear modest but offers Santa Fe's most satisfactory guest experience.

Location

Located in the heart of Santa Fe, it allows guests to enjoy the rich history as soon as they step out of the front door. In the heart of the historic square with Santa Fe plaza only 180 meters away, this luxury hotel is within walking distance of museums, art galleries, restaurants, and shopping spots.

New Mexico Museum of Art and the 19th-century Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi are also a few popular destinations in the hotel's close vicinity. Canyon Road, where the hotel is located, has over 100 studios and art galleries. Moreover, the city's mountains offer skiing and hiking experiences, only a thirty-minute drive from Rosewood.

Additionally, the Albuquerque International Sunport is a 70-minute drive, and Santa Fe Municipal Airport is just a 20-minute drive away. For easy accessibility, it also offers valet parking for its guests.

History

Looking at the present-day pueblo-luxe hotel, you will never believe it was once the town prison. So if you find the rooms small, you will understand why. Nearly 25 years ago, this building used to host patrons that needed disciplining. Afterward, when Rosewood Hotels & Resorts acquired the property, they chose to keep the original three-story structure and renovate it instead of tearing it apart and beginning from scratch.

Hence Jim Rimelspach, who originally designed the property, was responsible for its renovation. He focused all his attention on making this structure what it is today. At the end of the renovation, the hotel was named the Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi. That's after Anasazi - a lost tribe known as the ancestors of Pueblo.

Structure

A luxurious hotel with an ambient atmosphere and beautiful spaces that display Santa Fe's rich culture defines the Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi. Unassuming from the outside, the interior comes as a surprise with sophisticated and inviting common areas. Jim used natural materials like stone and wood to complement the ivory tones.

The creatively placed lighting also adds a warm glow to enhance the ambient effect. The structure has polished stone floors and exposed traditional wooden ceilings. It tastefully pays tribute to the Southwest with the actual sandstone structure mimicking the Anasazi Indian building style, complete with a bubbling fountain.

Additionally, the doorways are painted in Native patterns, while the artworks inspired by local history line the hallways and the stairs.

Living Spaces

Keeping up with the hotel's Southwestern style, the living spaces are gorgeous and relaxing with high-end amenities. The traditional wood ceiling and floors feature complementary tones of beige and ivory.

Moreover, the 58 rooms feature kiva fireplaces and native designs in either the carpets or artwork to maintain authenticity. Simultaneously, the modern facilities include complimentary Wi-Fi, an iPod docking station, and a flat-screen TV. There is also a Keurig coffee maker, DVD player, and a work desk, amongst many others. Furthermore, they offer handcrafted furnishings with an option of either king-sized or double beds. These come with Pendleton blankets and throw pillows pairing seamlessly with Rivolta Carmignani Italian linens.

The hotel offers different room types where guests can enjoy a luxurious stay. Overall, the living accommodations here are small, but some higher category rooms are more spacious. Some even feature a balcony with lounge chairs to enjoy the scenic views.

Perhaps the most high-end offering here is the Anasazi Suite. It features a king-sized bed with a spacious living room, bar, and dining area. Moreover, all the rooms have sleek and modern attached bathrooms. They come in tub/shower combos, robes, slippers, hairdryers, and toiletries by New York's C.O. Bigelow Apothecaries. The shower gel, conditioner, soap, and shampoo are also complimentary.

Food and Drink

While it is within walking distance of many famous Santa Fe eateries, the hotel offers some excellent food and drinking experiences on-site. The most noteworthy perhaps is the Anasazi Restaurant, Bar & Lounge. Inspired by the rich culinary history, this Southwestern restaurant serves innovative drinks and dishes amidst a rustically luxurious décor.

It is closely followed by the hotel's Bar and Lounge. Here you can enjoy a casual dining experience with a bar menu featuring Santa Fe's classic appetizers. Be well-prepared to sip the famous Silver Coin margaritas, locally brewed beers, and other classic cocktails.

Included in America's Best 100 Wine Restaurants, the Patio Restaurant at the resort allows you to relax to the Santa Fe Plaza's historical rhythms. It partners with fresh indigenous farms and serves its guests with seasonal offerings throughout the year - also available via room service.

The Wine Cellar is their private dining experience. You can book this personal space for up to 12 guests. Moreover, a large wooden table set in the center allows guests to taste over 1,000 bottles while enjoying an intimate meeting.

In-house Facilities

Regarding facilities, the hotel has a lot to offer, which keeps the valued guests involved. Yes, it lacks a pool and a full spa, but it does have a fully-equipped fitness center, including a yoga studio. Instead of a spa, they offer in-room massages and aromatherapy sessions.

Takeaway

While the Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi may appear to be the place for intimate escapades, it is also a great place to visit with family and kids. It offers graceful service, superb dining, and highly comfortable accommodations. Even the common sitting areas here are incredible. So if you are planning to visit Santa Fe soon, choose this Rosewood hotel as your living space.
