The classic upscale property Royal Lancaster Hotel London offers many opportunities. The capital of England, London, is a 21st-century city with a long history going back to Roman times. It is a tourist destination where visitors line up to see the iconic Big Bang Tower, Marble Arch, and Westminster Abbey.
Take a ride on the London Eye to enjoy breathtaking views or gawk at the imposing Houses of Parliament in the city's center. And if anyone wants to enjoy natural beauty, Hyde Park offers a unique habitat for a diverse range of floras and faunas in the heart of London. You will find the root-and-branch-revamped Royal Lancaster Hotel London across Hyde Park.
The historic Royal Lancaster Hotel London enjoys a prime Central London location. The commanding mid-century architectural icon looks over and offers fantastic views of Hyde Park. In addition, the site is idyllic because, thanks to the wrap-around windows, the guests wake up to aw-worthy views of the famous London skyline. Sitting atop the Lancaster Gate Tube Station, the hotel's location couldn't improve for leisure and business travelers.
Want to head out of town? Paddington Station is only 5 minutes on foot. Looking for retail therapy, Nottingham Hill is 15 minutes away by train. From there, the lovely Holland Park with its traditional pubs is a short walk away. Or hop on the tube to reach Oxford Circus at the junction of Regent Street and Oxford Street. This area offers excellent shopping and dining experiences.
Who would believe this towering hotel was meant to house the offices of a British entertainment conglomerate, the Rank Organization? The famous architect Richard Seifert impeccably designed the tower with an unapologetic and Stark look, gaining both admiration and criticism. The construction progressed quickly. However, in 1967 the structure opened its gate as the Royal Lancaster Hotel. Why the sudden change of plans?
During that time, London could not keep up with the growing number of tourists because of scarce hotel space. Therefore, the UK Government awarded £1000 for every new hotel room built to remedy the situation. As a result, the owners of the Rank Organization were tempted, so they decided to convert the property into a luxury hotel.
Lancaster London looks a little stark from the outside. The towering structure gets its unprecedented hardness from its 1960s roots. Yet, it is the opposite on the inside. Sparkling marble floors, fresh flowers, and light make it inviting. Additionally, the interior is designed to combine timeless style with modern amenities. But, it is easy to spot the subtle nods to the hotel's heritage in abstract art and Art Deco mirrored walls.
The soothing caramel theme dramatically reduces the effect of cold marble and keeps things tasteful. They've also installed Honeycomb-shaped light fixtures to pay a charming nod to the bee farm on the hotel's roof.
The iconic tower houses 411 rooms and suites of varying categories. From the basic classic rooms to the highest signature suites, all the living accommodations here have the same appeal. Mainly because of the impressive views each offers.
They feature a perfect combination of contemporary and vintage styles. Moreover, soft gold accents combine with premium linens to evoke a high-end look, yet fresh flowers and velvet seating contribute a touch of upmarket style.
Each living space has a king bed, a working desk, and a chair with ample storage space. Amenities like smart TVs, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, international plugs with USB hubs, and a minibar are standard. They also have huge windows offering stunning views of London vistas.
On either end of the 18th floor sit the two Signature Suites – Lancaster Suite and Royal Suite. Both offer the best views of the entire hotel. Moreover, all the suites have separate lounge areas, with the Royal Suite boasting a separate dining area and a deep-set marble bath.
The posh marble bathrooms have rain showers. They are also equipped with premium White Company bath products. Besides, the full-length mirrors and makeup vanity kits are a bonus.
The Royal Lancaster London offers a mouthwatering culinary experience with three award-winning restaurants. The first is the all-female Nipa Thai serving Thai cuisine. This restaurant is an authentic and unpretentious local diner serving the most authentic Thai cuisine outside Bangkok.
The second offering, Island Grill, offers a more relaxed environment. It serves a modern lunch menu, including Tony Page's signature dishes.
Delicious breakfast is available from the a la carte menu at Park Restaurant. Are you craving a snack? The Hyde Café serves artisan coffee with delicious pastries and homemade cakes. They also do champagne and other fine wines with light bites to sustain the guests.
Park Lounge Bar is their exclusive drinking site. Their menu features a list of carefully crafted drinks, each better than the other. Here they also serve dishes from the hotel's all-day dining menu. Additionally, they make traditional British afternoon tea to select an irresistible assortment of sandwiches, scones, and sweet delicacies.
While there is no spa here, you can schedule in-room spa treatments. Moreover, you can have them book a discounted spa treatment at one of the hotel's sister properties. Another notable feature is the 24-hour gym with cross trainers, Technogym treadmills, and a dedicated weights section.
They also offer plenty of event space with sleek, state-of-the-art equipment, which most corporate visitors love. It also provides on-site parking for a fee. And finally, all the guests enjoy a free Wi-Fi connection throughout the premises.
The Royal Lancaster Hotel London overlooks Hyde Park and practically sits on the tube. After renovation, the interiors are fresh and modern, offering panoramic views of London's skyline from almost all the rooms.
