The Ned London originated in the former Midland Bank headquarters, designed by Sir Edwin
'Ned' Lutyens in 1924. When
Nick Jones, the founder of Soho House & Co, first saw the City's disused
building in 2012, he fell in love. 'The property had been empty for nearly
eight years, but there was something about it – the details and scale of it –
that just floored me,' Jones explains. When he left, he called Ron
Burkle, Soho House chairman, and investor. 'Ron came to view the building, and
straight away, we began to imagine how the project would take form,' says Jones. The
Ned includes private members' club, Ned's Club, a private events floor, ten restaurants, and 250 bedrooms available to the public.
The
250 bedrooms range in size from intimate to large-scale suites – all with a nod
to 1920s glamour. Every bedroom at The Ned has been designed to give guests a
relaxed yet memorable stay. All
rooms include access to Ned's Club Gym and Spa, subject to availability.
Six
restaurants sit amidst The Ned's historic 3,000 square meters former banking
hall and lower ground floor, serving food from around the world. Each
restaurant has its distinct space, separated by 92 verdite
columns and rows of Grade I-listed walnut banking counters. The menus are
refreshed every week and they serve food from around the world.
CECCONI'S - Serves handmade pasta, seafood, and dishes from Italy using the finest ingredients. The restaurant has outposts in West Hollywood, Miami, Istanbul, Berlin, Barcelona, New York, Amsterdam, and Mumbai.
KAIA - An Asian-Pacific-inspired restaurant specializing in healthy food, with poke bowls and mains from the grill, served over the counter.
LUTYENS GRILL - The clubby, old-school grill feel is enhanced by the traditional trolley service with meat carved or fish filleted right at your table. Situated in a private wood-paneled dining room on the ground floor – once used as the former Bank Manager's office serves lunch and dinner.
MALIBU KITCHEN - Brings Californian food to the City with a healthy menu of superfood salads, cured fish and meat, and plant-based dishes, served from breakfast to dinner. Expect counter-style seating and a handful of booths.
ELECTRIC BAR & DINER - The sister restaurant to Soho House & Co's Electric Diner Portobello's revamped menu offers a mixture of diner and deli favorites. Expect everything from burgers and bagels to salads and cheesecake, with plenty of shakes and cocktails.
THE PARLOUR - An intimate jazz and cabaret bar, with guests enjoying live entertainment over dinner and plenty of cocktails.
THE NICKEL BAR serves a menu of time-honored American staples and classic
cocktails from morning until early morning. The Nickel Stage, alongside, has
a daily line-up of live performances – from jazz trios to New Music Mondays'
emerging acts.
Ned's
Club Spa offers a variety of relaxing treatments, from manicures and pedicures to advanced facials, massages, and hair services.
