In recent years, many people have discovered the delights that Scandinavia has to offer. The warmth of the people, the beauty of the landscapes, and the rich historical culture. It has never been a better time than the present to immerse yourself in the delights offered by one of those countries, Norway. One such is The Thief Hotel Oslo. To enjoy this fantastic hotel's benefits, you must be present there.
The Thief Hotel Oslo may not seem immediately appealing, but this stunning boutique hotel deserves exploration. The location is in Tjuvholmen, otherwise known as Tjuvholmen Thief Islet. This is so as it used to be an execution spot for thieves in Norway's colorful past. However, this resort provides something very different with its relaxing atmosphere and contemporary vibe.
Tjuvholmen is part of Oslo, Norway - the center of Oslo is only a short walk away. This is where you can enjoy the delights of the Royal Palace with Palace Park or any sights worth seeing within such a historic city. It is also close to the Oslo Gardermoen Airport.
Moreover, the hotel is only a few minutes from the Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art. As a result, it has an impressive art collection. The hotel also boasts several works of contemporary art in public areas. These include Andy Warhol, Richard Prince, and Sir Peter Blake, among the artists represented by the museum. Additionally, guests staying at the hotel enjoy free entrance to the museum.
The hotel is 9-storeys, with the higher floors allowing for a comprehensive view of the local canals and the inlet of Oslofjord. As well as the restaurants and bars, there are many attractive bars and restaurants to enjoy nearby if you want to sample the local culture.
Currently, the hotel has 116 rooms, many of which are generously sized. The Standard and Superior Rooms enjoy wooden floors and a private balcony with floor-to-ceiling windows. Moreover, the Deluxe and Premium Rooms enjoy similar east-facing views over the Oslofjord. There are also different suites available, the most unusual of which is the Apparatjik Suite. It is filled with art installations, music, and video art, for a completely different hotel stay experience.
Additionally, the Thief and Oslo Suites on the 8th floor provide a suite with a penthouse experience. The Oslo Suite contains its kitchen and bar and artworks by Sir Peter Blake. Both suites include entry to The Thief Spa as part of the comprehensive package for the most discerning guests.
Furthermore, free WiFi, a Nespresso machine, and a large-screen TV with a sound system are available as a minimum in all rooms, with a range of lighting options.
As expected from a boutique hotel, there are only a limited number of options for eating and drinking at the hotel itself. However, whether you want to eat at the Thief Roof Grill or The Table, your options are anything but limited. A complimentary breakfast buffet is available for most guests, and the breakfast at The Thief is famous as a Nordic organic breakfast.
The Thief Roof Grill is an eatery designed with outdoor, alfresco, rooftop dining in mind. Based in the hotel's penthouse, it has room for 80 guests. It is perfect for a summer evening with a view over the Fjord, specializing in various meat and food dishes. Heating and glass panels make it an ideal enclosed event space for cooler evenings, offering food between May & September as the weather allows.
For a more intimate dining experience, The Table is available. This unique dining experience, for up to 6 guests, is only available for one table per evening. However, it is in high demand so you must book in advance. This concept focuses on Norwegian delicacies and cuisine cooked over charcoal on a grill.
Additionally, The Thief Bar is a rooftop terrace. It is at one of the most desirable locations in the city, providing a perfect choice for drinks before or after dinner. Or, you can visit at any time of the day that suits your schedule, with the rooftop bar complementing the roof grill. Further options for eating and drinking are available along the Aker Brygge waterfront.
Despite its size, The Thief provides a good range of health and fitness resources. These include a swimming pool, spa, sauna, and fully-equipped fitness center for guests. The swimming pool is 12 meters in length.
Moreover, various sauna rooms provide options for heat and humidity, depending on your taste and tolerance. It also emphasizes the Nordic flavor of this hotel, including a steam room, a Turkish bath, and treatment rooms for spa services.
Additionally, the fitness center is open 24 hours a day. It has a wide range of fitness and health machines to enable guests to work out whenever or however they wish to.
The Thief Hotel has some function rooms available for meetings and events. These include the Fjord (up to 50 persons) and the Pipervika (up to 40 persons). Some boardrooms can comfortably hold up to 12 persons. These well-lit, well-equipped large rooms are perfect for intimate family events and gatherings.
The hotel provides various packages and activities based on weekday, weekend, and Spa visits, as well as special packages for couples. Twelve rooms are specially equipped to be suitable for people with disabilities. Very Important Kid and Very Important Dog packages are available for that unique child or pet.
The Thief Hotel provides a unique traveling and visiting experience for anyone wishing to enjoy the Nordic charms of this part of Oslo. This allows guests to get the most out of the quieter pace while being close to the livelier city center. Moreover, with its wide range of well-equipped rooms, links and relationship to modern art, and extensive health and fitness facilities, The Thief Hotel Oslo should be your only choice for your first or subsequent visit to Oslo.
