Tivoli Palacio de Seteais in Sintra is more than just a luxury hotel. It's a romantic palace that takes you back to the XVII century with its architecture. The furniture in the rooms is very fancy. Moreover, you can hold any event or stay at this boutique hotel in Sintra, a Unesco World Heritage Site, one to remember. The ballrooms feature beautiful tapestries and frescoes that are rare in beauty.
Spend idle hours wandering the mazes or enjoy them from afar in the comfort of the Seteais Restaurant while you eat the food made by the master chef. Then, enjoy a romantic dinner for two in this palace built for love. It's in the mountains of Sintra and has excellent views of the Moorish Castle and Pena Palace. It will be an unforgettable experience if you eat in one of the palace's ballrooms or next to the pool.
The hotel has a lot of space, and it's on top of a hillside that looks out over the rolling landscape, forests, and national parkland of the Sintra Mountains. However, you'll need a car to see the area's sights because it isn't much you can do on foot. The beautiful Moorish Castle and Pena Palace are about a 15-minute drive from here.
Additionally, take a short drive to Sintra, a train station that connects to the central Rossio Station in about an hour. You can also take a bus to get there. Sintra Station also has a taxi stand and a bus stop right outside the hotel. If you want to get to Lisbon by car, it takes about a half-hour to get there. Take a 30-minute drive from the airport to the mountains of Sintra, a World Heritage Site.
Pena Palace, a 19th-century palace with lots of different colors and styles, stands above the hotel. It's high above the city. Furthermore, within walking distance is the palace of Monserrate, which Lord Byron wrote about in Childe Harold's Pilgrimage. It has exotic gardens that he wrote about in the book.
The building was built in 1787 for the Dutch consul in Portugal. They lived there in the 19th century. In 1802, Prince Regent Joao VI and Princess Carlotta Joaquina were there. Then, after a long period of neglect, they turned it into a hotel in 1953.
In 2009, it underwent a lot of work. Some of the frescoed walls are thought to be by Jean Baptiste Pillement, the French painter. They are mixed with 18th-century antiques, rich silks, and chandeliers in a light and elegant.
The service is friendly and well-done. There is a swimming pool in the beautiful gardens, and the Anantara Spa is a lovely surprise. This signifies that the hotel is going through a new phase as part of the Minor Hotels group, which owns Tivoli.
The hotel has a wide range of activities for its guests, from a helicopter ride over Sintra and the coast to a ride in a horse-drawn carriage. Furthermore, guests can enjoy a private champagne dinner with a harpist and violinist at the hotel itself.
At Tivoli Palácio de Seteais, you can choose from many luxurious rooms in Sintra. Moreover, all 30 guest rooms have magnificent paintings, luxury carpets, and frescoes of rare beauty. The hotel is the best place for people who want to live elegantly and get good service. Room decor is elegant and refined, with authentic antique furniture, traditional Portuguese carpeting, and subtle floral-pattern wallpaper.
Most of the 18th-century panels are hand-painted, and most of the furniture is neoclassical or romantic. Some upgraded rooms have large terraces, while suites have elegant lounges, beautiful velvet furniture, and beautiful oil paintings. The rooms also have minibars, Nespresso machines, and flat-screen TVs with cable channels. Moreover, marble-topped bathrooms have fluffy bathrobes, shower/tub combos, separate tubs, walk-in rainfall showers, as well as marble floors.
Even though the 29 rooms and one suite have a lot of old furniture and feel, they have all the modern things you need, like Nespresso machines. There are also both twin and double beds. As for the beds, the linens have a black border around them. The bed heads are made of wood with a marquetry inlay; the cushions and curtains are silk. There are small desks and low chairs in the room. Bathrooms are reddish marble, have tubs instead of showers, and own-brand toiletries.
During your stay at Tivoli Palacio de Seteais, you can eat at the Seteais Restaurant, one of the best restaurants in the area. At the bar, you can drink refreshing cocktails and other premium drinks, as well as a wide selection of wines and liquors. The food is elegant and light because it fits in with the rest of the decor.
Make sure to taste the partridge and pheasant terrine, which comes with a local wine called Colares. It's a Seteais version of a Portuguese dish, "bacalhau." This braised codfish dish with bell pepper mayonnaise and crispy smoked ham. During breakfast, there is both a buffet of local cheeses, fruits, and pastries, as well as eggs that you can order to your liking.
Enjoy the beauty of Portugal's mountains from the spa in Sintra, which is on the grounds of a palace that dates back to the 1800s. Here you will find the Anantara Spa Tivoli Palácio de Seteais, a peaceful place at the spa hotel in Sintra. It sits between exotic gardens and the mountains.
Additionally, three treatment rooms, including one for couples, are available for pampering treatments. Here, you can enjoy luxurious pampering and holistic awakenings simultaneously. For example, Vichy shower therapy and Biologique Recherche products are both all-natural. It's an excellent place for your mind, body, and soul to connect with nature. You can also breathe in the fresh air and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
There are only 30 rooms inside this elegant, neoclassical, late 18th-century palace, but they have lots of frescoed walls, tapestries, and old furniture. It is in the wooded mountains of Sintra, which was once the summer home of the Portuguese royal family. Furthermore, lawns with peacocks that roam freely surround the hotel.
